Frequently Asked Questions

All You Need to Know

  • Are you accepting new patients?
    Yes, we welcome new patients.
  • Do you accept my health insurance plan?
Advocare participates with most major insurance plans. As participation varies by region, specialty, and physician, we recommend that you contact either our office or your insurance company representative to verify that your insurance plan is accepted.
  • Do I need to obtain a referral prior to making an appointment?
Our office does not usually require referrals, but many insurance providers will only cover specialist visits with a prior referral from your primary care physician. Please check with your insurance company to determine whether a referral is required.
  • How do we contact the doctor after hours?
Our medical providers are available 24 hours a day. After hours, call the office at (856) 874-1114 and our answering service will page the provider on call. Please be aware that after-hours calls are intended for urgent medical issues that cannot wait until the next business day.

IN THE EVENT OF A LIFE THREATENING EMERGENCY, CALL 911.
  • When will I receive lab or test results?
We make every effort to contact our patients whenever lab and test results become available. Most pap and biopsy results may take up to two weeks to return. If you have access to the patient portal, your lab results will appear within the same timeframe. Please contact our office if you have not heard from our staff regarding your results.
  • What hospitals are you affiliated with for surgical and obstetrical care?
We are affiliated with Virtua Health Systems, with priviledges at Virtua Voorhees Hospital. We also perform surgery at Summit Surgical Center. We can perform some minor surgical procedures in our Voorhees office.
  • Can I email the providers if I am having a medical problem?
We ask that you please contact us via the main office telephone number: (856) 874-1114 for all medical concerns. If you have access to the patient portal, you may send a non-emergent message through there.
  • How long does it take for medical forms such as disability paperwork, referrals or pre-certifications to be completed?
